'Another Place' is an art installation created by Anthony Gormley on the shore of Crosby Beach, Merseyside, Liverpool.

This installation consists of 100 cast-iron life-size figures that spread across 3 metres of the foreshore and almost 1km out to sea. These figures are casts of the artists own body and they stand on the beach looking out to sea, staring at the horizon in silent expectation.

This art installation is the stimulus for your trio. In order to gain higher marks, you must show how you have communicated this stimulus through your performance.

This dance needs to be between 3-5 minutes long and you will be marked on your demonstration of physical, expressive and technical skills.

As well as the communication of choreographic intent, you will also be marked on musicality and your sensitivity to other dancers, both of which you won't have been marked for in your solos! For definitions of these, please visit the Performance home page!

Here are some websites if you would like to research the stimulus further:

FUN FACT: Did you know, Anthony Gormley also created the mannequin's in Akram Khan and Sidi Larbi's piece Zero Degrees?
